Coming in the next issue of An Ounce

• A preview of a new documentary film (September ’09 release) called The Idiot Cycle, which has cancer and its environmental links as the main thread. Gotta love the title. It’s a blunt look at the petrochemical giants who make us sick with zillions of novel chemicals, and then profit again by providing ultra-expensive drugs to keep us alive (though rarely ‘cured’!)

• A review of the brand new and brilliantly named book, Slow Death by Rubber Duck: How the Toxic Chemistry of Everyday Life Affects Our Health, by Environmental Defense Canada’s Rick Smith, and the Ivey Foundation’s Robert Lourie, with plenty of help from Sarah Dopp.
